After another big saturday night out. I wasnt expecting to be goin up the hill after such a rubbish forecast from the night before so I woke up pretty late.
The bad weather that was forecast came through over night so it cleared up perfectly for the daytime. I got up the hill for half 12 and was greeted with lovely fresh powder snow. Every trail was completely covered so you could go wherver you fancied so I explored loads of territory that hadn't been touched.
I met up with George and Nemo and we did some awesome powder runs off piste. On one run we crossed the boundary fence and went offpiste for absolutely miles into the unknown, The snow was so soft in places and at times; I well and truly got myself stuck in waist deep powder. We eventually tried making it back to the trail but we were miles out of our way so we all ended up having a short 10min hike back to a trail which was pretty tiring but it got rid of the hangover.

Adam eventually strolled up for 2ish at which point it got real busy on the greengate chairlfit with a good 15min wait. We ventured all over the mountain constantly riding on untouched fresh powder finding little jumps and natural half pipes etc.
Near the end of the session, we mainly stayed on the greengate run venturing onto the right hand side of the trails on the way donw on the fresh powder. We found a lovely jump that we saw others having a go out so we all gave it a go and got some air. We all agreed that we would need loads more speed on the next run.
Nemo went for his jump and did a nice little grab but he still didnt have enough pace. I then went for it and straightlined the whole approach building up some ridiculous speed. I forced myself not to back out of it; I hit the jump and went into a backspin, I got a good 6foot of air at which point I was upside down and stopped rotating, I ended up landing on my head which I honestly thought I would break my neck but fortunately I cleared the landning zone and landed in fresh powder with not a scrape or scratch. The other 3 thought I was in serious trouble as it looked pretty spectacular and were thinking it was gonna be an ambulance job but to there surprise I was ok. After that scary run, I took it easier on the jump next time round.

What a great day though. My best day besides the day at snowpark, a proper fresh powder day and no injuries. The best day of the season conditions wise and probably will be the best the day of the season as we are way over the half way point of the season and the warm temps of spring are almost upon us if not already.
